Best SMS Marketing Providers in 2026: 10 Platforms Compared

best sms marketing providers

Table of Contents

The best SMS marketing provider for most teams in 2026 depends on three things: where your customers are, whether you also need email in the same tool, and how you want to pay. Ecommerce brands selling only in North America usually shortlist Klaviyo, Attentive or Postscript, small US businesses look at SimpleTexting, EZ Texting or Textedly, and teams sending to many countries or mixing campaigns with API traffic tend to prefer a pay-as-you-go platform such as SMS.to, whose SMS marketing features include tracked short links, personalisation and one-click opt-out.

Below we compare ten providers using only what each one publishes on its own website. Every price is a published list price as of September 2026, linked to its source, so you can check it before you commit.

How did we compare the providers?

We looked at the things that decide whether an SMS programme works in practice, not just the feature list:

  • Where it can send. Several popular tools only send to the United States and Canada. That is fine for a US store and a dealbreaker for a brand selling across Europe or the Middle East.
  • How pricing scales. Monthly credit bundles are predictable at low volume. Per-message pricing is cheaper when volumes swing. Contact-based pricing grows with your list even when you send less.
  • Automation and segmentation. Abandoned-basket flows, back-in-stock alerts and post-purchase messages drive most repeat revenue, so we noted who builds them in.
  • Integrations. Shopify, WooCommerce and CRM connections decide how much data you can use without developers.
  • Compliance tooling. Opt-in capture, STOP handling and registration support such as 10DLC in the US.

We did not rank providers on delivery rates, because none of them publishes comparable figures. Test with a small send to your own markets before you move a list.

What does each SMS marketing provider offer?

1. SMS.to

SMS.to is a messaging platform run by Intergo Telecom, a licensed telecom operator building messaging infrastructure since 2014. It combines a web campaign tool with an SMS API, SMPP and Viber, so marketing campaigns, order updates and OTP codes can run from one account.

Its features page lists tracked short links with click-through reporting for A/B tests, mail merge with up to five dynamic tags, two-way SMS on rented virtual numbers, team accounts with sub-allocated credits, and a one-click opt-out link on the nosmsto.me domain. Pricing on the SMS.to pricing page starts from $0.023 per SMS and varies by country, with no contracts or setup fees. Integrations include Shopify, Salesforce, Zapier, Magento, PrestaShop and OpenCart.

Consider something else if: you want email and SMS in one editor, or deep Shopify-native lifecycle automation out of the box.

2. Klaviyo

Klaviyo is built around customer profiles and segmentation for ecommerce. Its SMS marketing page describes behaviour-based automation, AI-assisted segments, send-time optimisation and automated SMS conversations, with SMS available in 20+ countries and 350+ integrations. The published free plan covers up to 250 active profiles, 500 email sends and $5 of mobile messages a month. Klaviyo’s help centre says paid messaging is billed through a monthly mobile messaging plan at per-message rates that vary by channel and country, and unused spend does not roll over.

3. Attentive

Attentive targets larger ecommerce brands that treat SMS as a primary revenue channel. Its site highlights AI-driven journeys, sign-up units for list growth, RCS, email, 100+ integrations and sending in 20+ countries. The pricing page publishes no figures: pricing is based on list size, messages sent and the products you choose, and Attentive says it offers free trials.

4. Postscript

Postscript is designed for Shopify merchants, though its FAQ says non-Shopify stores can use its SDK. The published plans run from Starter ($0 platform fee, $49 minimum spend, $0.009 per SMS, $0.045 per MMS) through Growth ($100 a month) and Professional ($500 a month) to custom Enterprise pricing. Its pricing page lists Launch from $20 a month billed yearly ($25 monthly) with 500 monthly credits, Boost, Scale and an Enterprise plan at $3,000 a month. An SMS uses one credit and an MMS three. It supports the US and Canada and offers a 14-day free trial without a card.

8. Textedly

Textedly keeps things simple: every paid plan has the same features and differs only by volume. The published plans start at $29 a month for 500 messages and scale through 14 tiers, with annual billing adding 20% more texts. A free account includes 50 texts and one keyword. Its pricing page does not state which countries it sends to, so confirm coverage before you sign up.

9. Textmagic

Textmagic suits teams that mix campaigns with day-to-day business texting. Its site lists two-way messaging by default, email to SMS, a flow builder for drip campaigns, a shared inbox and Zapier and HubSpot connections. Its help centre lists 200+ supported countries and territories, with credits sold in packs of 100; the number of credits per SMS depends on destination and length.

What should you check before choosing an SMS marketing provider?

Feature lists look similar. These operator-level questions separate providers once real traffic starts:

  1. Sender identity per country. Can you use an alphanumeric sender ID where it is allowed, and will the provider handle registration where it is required? In the US that means 10DLC, toll-free verification or a short code; our 10DLC vs short code vs toll-free guide explains the trade-offs.
  2. What you are billed for. Ask whether you pay per message part. A message with an emoji switches from GSM-7 to Unicode and holds 70 characters instead of 160, so one promo can cost two or three parts. See SMS pricing and character limits for the maths.
  3. Delivery reports. Can you see per-message delivery status and failure reasons, not just “sent”? That is how you spot a bad route or a filtered sender early.
  4. Opt-out handling. STOP replies and opt-out links should update suppression lists automatically, across every list and team member.
  5. Extra fees. Number rental, registration, carrier surcharges and seats are often priced separately from the headline rate.
  6. Room to grow. If you will later need OTP codes, delivery notifications or an API, check the same account can handle them.

Do you need an SMS marketing platform or an SMS API provider?

Marketing platforms give marketers a campaign builder, lists, segments and reports. SMS API providers give developers endpoints to trigger messages from an app. Most growing businesses end up needing both: campaigns from the marketing team and transactional messages from the product. Choosing one provider that does both avoids two sets of sender registrations and two bills. If your shortlist is mainly developer-led, compare the best SMS API providers as well.

How SMS.to handles SMS marketing

SMS.to is built for teams that send to more than one country. You can upload a CSV list, personalise with dynamic tags, schedule campaigns and track clicks through branded short links, while developers send order updates and codes over the API or SMPP from the same account. The SMS.to feature set includes one-click opt-out, two-way numbers and team permissions, and our team advises on sender IDs and registration country by country.

Pricing is pay as you go from $0.023 per SMS, with volume discounts for high-volume senders. Check destination rates on the SMS pricing page.

FAQs

Which SMS marketing provider is cheapest?

It depends on destination and volume. Among published US rates as of September 2026, Omnisend, Postscript and Brevo list per-message prices around one cent before carrier fees, while credit plans cost more per text but bundle features. Always compare the full cost, including numbers and registration.

Which SMS marketing providers send internationally?

SimpleTexting and EZ Texting state they serve the US and Canada. Klaviyo and Attentive list 20+ countries, Brevo 200+ countries and territories, and SMS.to sends to many countries from one account.

Is an SMS marketing platform different from a bulk SMS service?

A bulk SMS service sends the same message to a list. A marketing platform adds segmentation, automation and reporting on top. Many providers, including SMS.to, offer both.

Do I need consent to send marketing texts?

Yes, in almost every market. Keep a record of how each person opted in and include a clear opt-out in every marketing message.
